1st Family Vacation to Myrtle Beach

Wow, what an awesome week we just had! Each Summer Wes's parents and sisters go to Myrtle Beach for a week. This year we joined in and made it four couples and three girls under the age of 3. We had such a blast! As you could imagine we did a lot and of course I took a million pictures, so this is going to be one long blog entry. One of our favorite things to do was just to hang on the beach and watch Malia explore, to say she ate some sand would be an understatement.
Packed and beach bound
What is it about eating sand?
Playing with cousin Ella Drew
Maya Rae basking in the sun
Wes on the jet ski out in the Atlantic
Cutie pie....she loves her Care Bear beach chair
Most of the time she just loved to stand up on it
Playing with her boat
Floating in the ocean pool at The Point

When we were not relaxing and basking in the sun we were being adventurous at the Freestyle Music Park. It has adult rides and kiddie rides. The girls and us adults had a blast. Malia was a trooper and even rode a few rides.

Ella Drew is so brave!!

Andrew, Liz, Poppy, Weezer, Wes, and I were brave enough to ride the BIG white Roller Coaster! Wow, was that first drop terrifying.

Poppy & Nana got a little wet...thanks to Wes. :)

Mid week we decided to head to Wild Water and Wheels water park. It has been over 12 years since I had been to a water park. Man, I forgot how much fun they are! Malia was a little timid at first, but after a while she relaxed and had a great time. She hung out in the baby pool most of the time, but did go on the lazy river with daddy and I and enjoyed it. Matter of fact within a couple of minutes she fell asleep on my chest.
Huggin' Maya...so sweet!
Silly girl!
The boys had a blast riding Go-Carts
For Father's Day, Wes decided to take Poppy flying on a Bi-Plane. I can't believe they did it, I would have been so scared.
Are they not the cutest men ever!
Wes waving at us...we were on the Pier below watching them fly over.
When we were not out exploring or hanging on the beach we were just relaxing at the beach house. As you have read and seen, we had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back next year.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read about our first family vacation. We love and miss you all!!

She's 1!! Where has the time gone?

Well the BIG 1st birthday has come and gone. :( It was a great weekend!! We had some family come in town and had a great turn out for Malia's party. I can't thank Gramme, Nana, Poppy, Wes, and Grandpa Norm enough for being so wonderful in helping me set up the house for the party. Malia had a great time and was constantly on the go. Wes grilled up some tasty cheese burgers and hot dogs, thanks honey!! When it came time for opening up the presents I had a feeling Malia would only stick around for a few, and I was correct. At 1 they just don't care too much, however, she was so blessed in all that she got from our family and friends. She scored on everything! On Sunday, I went through the house and gathered up her "old"/"baby" toys and made room for all of her awesome new items from her birthday. When it came time for eating cake I was some what sad to cut into the Monkey cake. Wes and I had spent time baking and decorating it, it just didn't seem right to cut it all up. Luckily, I didn't get to witness the Monkey cake getting cut up, in that I was upstairs bathing Malia after her production of eating her cake. Pretty hilarious, she made us proud...check out the link below for pictures.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. To see a lot more pictures from the party click HERE.

Eating her cup cake on her birthday, she loved it!

Happy Birthday sweet baby girl

Well done, Malia.

So generous, she gave some to me.

YAY!!! She loves riding like a big girl facing forward.

Happy Birthday Malia Lynn

Wow, our little Munkey has turned 1! As we reflect over the last year, we must thank God for blessing us with a healthy, beautiful, smart, and funny baby girl. This past year has been full of milestones, memories, and lots of laughter. As we celebrate this wonderful day and weekend we want to also thank our family and friends for being so supportive and for showing Malia so much love.
